Cambodia Visa Types: Which One Do You Need?

Cambodia offers several visa options to suit different travel purposes. For most tourists and business travelers, the Cambodia Tourist Visa (Type T) and Cambodia Business Visa (Type E) are conveniently available online and serve as the ideal entry choices.

However, the online visa is limited to leisure and business visits. Travelers heading to Cambodia for employment, retirement, education, or other long-term purposes must apply for alternative visa types through the appropriate channels.

This page outlines who should apply for each Cambodia visa category and what each visa permits.

Types of Cambodian Visas: What You Need to Know

Travelers entering Cambodia typically require a visa, unless they hold citizenship from a visa-exempt country. Whether visiting for tourism, business, or academic purposes—even for short stays—a valid Cambodian visa is essential. The appropriate visa type depends on several factors:

  • Nationality of the traveler
  • Purpose of the visit (e.g., leisure, work, study)
  • Length of stay in Cambodia

Understanding these criteria helps ensure you apply for the correct visa category before your trip.
